Carburizing

Carburizing or case hardening is designed to increase the surface hardness of materials that generally will not harden on their own. Processed components largely retain their toughness and ductility. Carbonitriding is available as well to provide a hard and wear-resistant case.
  • Case hardening temperatures 1550℉ – 1750℉
    005 – 0.125” case depth
  • On-site metallurgical labs for evaluating and certifying work
  • Furnaces adhere to AMS 2750/AMS-H-6875 pyrometry
  • 36” x 36” x 48” up to 3,500 lb. maximum capacity

Applications Include:

  • Bearing components
  • Drive and axle components
  • Engine and transmission components
  • Fasteners
  • Firearms
  • Gears
  • Heavy equipment
  • Pins
